Going Underground was the place for local fans of indie music in hk to be on Saturday night at the Underground 47 gig at The Cavern ,Lan Kwai Fong.Underground staged another eclectic treat for hk fans of indie sounds.  First on were P.M. Creative a 5 piece band formed in 2006.The members are Brett Lai(guitar, piano, songwriter),Bungi and Christie(vocal),Jonathan(guitar),Dominic(bass). The band got the crowd in the mood for the evening with their folkpop harmonybased rock with a country feel. The mood of their set ranged from intense, melancholic to summery wistful. The dual vocals of Christie and Bungi give the band's sound an extra dimension. Great for fans who like folkrock/pop harmony.

Elf Fatima at underground 47
Elf Fatima,a local postrock  outfit took the stage next. The crowd was really starting to arrive now as the band have a growing reputation and their set really justified the audience expectations. The band have played support to luminaries like Mogwai and on this set we could see why.The band played a compelling set which had quiet ,expressive ,Sigur Ros -like songs and more psychedelic, rocking songs which made me think of Explosions in the Sky at their best. The band have a great ability to create their own original soundscapes and their live performance is awesome, subtle and powerful, dark but also full of sunlight and intense beauty,.....If you like ambient and psychedelic indie then you'll love this band.Check out their myspace site and look out for their new cd...or contact the band at http://www.elf-fatima.com

Karat live at Underground 47
Karat  were next on and gave the audience a fun-filled,funkadelic set.The band members are Cherry (vocal),Terry(guitar, vocal),Garile(bass),and Wing(drums).Complete with Afro ,they played a very danceable set of feelgood funk HK style!Cherry the band's lead singer has a  voice that is warm and very soulful  on songs like'Deep in my Heart'.They played a great set with songs like 'Friday Night', 'Brand New Style' and the very funky 'Daydreaming in our Office'.I really enjoyed their energetic, funky sound and so did the local crowd.

Transition from the UK
Headlining were Transition from the UK and it gave fans a chance to see a band who has been voted among the top 10 bands in the uk and are on an asian tour. The band are passionate and energetic. They played a great set with lots of audience involvement featuring material from their latest album,'Openhanded'.Favourites with the crowd were"Jericho','All that I','Danshui(river)' and 'Cloud Cover'.The band have a big, modern sound with lots of well written material and a great live act.I'd recommend them to indie fans of modern rock.My favourites were ''Stories we've Told' and 'Danshui'.
you can check them out on myspace or visit your local record store for the new cd,'Openhanded'.
