The band's eponymous second album 'Elf fatima ' was released in 2005.It's well worth finding a copy as it showcases all of the band's strengths:ambient atmospheres, great songs, the ethereal vocals of Elf and some stunning post-rock guitar. ..............

The opening track 'Frozen Forest' is a Sigur Ros type acoustic intro. awash with ethereal vocals. The tranquil mood is soon displaced and shattered by the next track 'Ants' with its powerful bass lines and Elf's otherwordly, beth ortonlike vocals.I also thought the sound a lot like Cranes, one of the best 90s shoegaze style bands.'Fourtracksonetakememory'is one of my favourites as it just captures perfectly my image of the band live with its slow-burning groove and intense, wailing guitars which hypnotise the listener before explodind in cascades of sound..I also loved the outro 'Bonus Six;Noise Version'with its weird, distorted vocals and bass.Very psychedelic. There's a lot of good stuff on the album. If you think there's nothing interesting in the local scene, check out this CD or even better the band's live gigs which are awesome. There are a few good postrock bands in Hong Kong like The fragile,Slept in Spray,Magnolian but none of them matches the live intensity of Elf Fatima. You can also listen to the band at their myspace site.
